Cricket Betting at darazplay — all formats from BPL to the T20 World Cup
Cricket is more than just a sport for people in Bangladesh — it is a passion. Place bets on T20, ODI and Test matches across various markets at darazplay and experience live in-play betting. Football and many other sports are also available for betting on the same platform.
Three formats of cricket and familiar tournaments
Each format has its own pace and strategy — understanding the difference matters before you bet.
T20 Cricket
Just 20 overs per innings — making it the fastest format. Franchise tournaments like BPL and IPL are played in this format. Bangladesh Tigers also regularly take part in the T20 World Cup. Bettors favour this format because results come quickly.
ODI Cricket
50 overs per side — a game of balance. ODI matches are played in ICC World Cups and bilateral series. Batting, bowling and fielding all carry equal weight. The longer duration means odds move more during the match, making live betting particularly interesting.
Test Cricket
A five-day contest — a test of patience and strategy. With the possibility of a draw, Test betting offers three outcomes: Team A win, Team B win and Draw. Pitch conditions, weather and the innings margin can significantly influence the odds.
The tournaments Bangladeshis follow most closely
BPL is Bangladesh's own T20 league — it generates huge interest among local fans every season. IPL is India's franchise league, but it has a large following in Bangladesh as well. For every Bangladesh team match in the ICC T20 World Cup and the World Cup, betting interest rises many times over.
At darazplay, you can bet on matches from all these tournaments both before the match starts and while it is in progress. The number of markets also varies by format.
How is betting on football and other sports different
After cricket, football is the second most popular sport in Bangladesh. darazplay offers football markets including Match Winner, Over/Under goals and Both Teams to Score (BTTS). However, there are some key differences between the betting structure of cricket and football.
- Cricket has many sub-markets based on innings, overs and wickets; football is mainly centred on goals and half-time results.
- A T20 result comes within 3–4 hours; football's 90 minutes is also quick, but a Test match runs for five days.
- In cricket, a draw is generally only possible in Tests — T20 and ODI have a single winner; in football, a draw is always an option.
- In live betting, cricket odds change after every over and wicket, while football sees major changes after goals.
Popular markets in cricket betting
Here is a plain explanation of how to bet on each market.
Match Winner
The simplest market — bet on which team will win the match. In T20 and ODI there are only two options (Team A or Team B); in Test matches Draw is available as a third option.
All formatsToss Winner
Which team will win the toss before the match begins — this is a straight fifty-fifty market. The result is decided as soon as the match starts, so it is known for quick outcomes.
Pre-matchTop Batsman
Which player will score the most runs for their team — you pick the top batsman within a specific team. Cricket knowledge and pitch conditions are useful here.
Player-basedTotal Runs Over/Under
The bookmaker sets a number — for example, total runs in the match at 320.5. You bet on whether the total will be over or under that number. Pitch conditions, weather and the batting strength of each team are all factors to consider.
Totals marketMulti Bet
Combining selections from multiple matches into a single bet — if all selections are correct, you receive a return based on the combined odds. For example, adding three selections from three separate matches multiplies the odds, but losing any one of them means the whole bet is lost.
Multiple matchesFirst Wicket and Powerplay
At what score will the first wicket fall, or how many runs will be scored in the Powerplay (first 6 overs) — these types of markets are especially popular in T20 betting. The result is decided within the first few overs of the match.
T20 specialHow to read odds — an explanation of three formats
The same value is written in three different ways. The examples below make it easy to understand.
Example 1 — three ways to write the same price
Team A to win — stake ৳200
Decimal: 3.00 | Fractional: 2/1 | American: +200
All three show the same price. If the bet wins, return is ৳600 (৳400 profit + ৳200 stake). If the bet loses, ৳200 is gone.
Decimal odds show the total return directly — just multiply your stake by the odds. Fractional shows profit only (2/1 means ৳2 profit for every ৳1 staked). A positive American (+) figure shows how much profit a ৳100 stake would return.
Example 2 — odds for the favourite team
Team B to win — stake ৳200
Decimal: 1.50 | Fractional: 1/2 | American: -200
Return ৳300 (৳100 profit + ৳200 stake). American negative (-200) means you need to stake ৳200 to make ৳100 profit.
In cricket, the favourite's odds are usually close to 1.50. A relatively weaker team will have higher odds — meaning a winning bet on them returns more.
Multi bet example
Three selections — decimal odds: 1.40, 1.60 and 1.90
Combined odds: 1.40 × 1.60 × 1.90 = 4.26 (approximately)
A ৳100 stake returns ৳426 if all three selections are correct. If any one is wrong, the full ৳100 is lost.
Multi bets offer higher returns but also carry higher risk. Betting is for entertainment — keep that in mind when deciding how much to stake on each bet. For detailed betting rules, read the Terms and Conditions page.
LiveIn-Play Betting — odds during the match
One of the most engaging aspects of cricket is that the picture can change at any moment during the match. darazplay offers live betting even after the match has started — odds update instantly after every over and wicket.
- When a team scores quickly in the Powerplay, the opposition's odds increase.
- When an important wicket falls, the batting team's Match Winner odds can jump sharply.
- As the run-rate pressure builds in the final overs, odds can change on every ball.
- In live in-play, the total runs and next wicket markets call for quick decisions.
Fast internet and easy mobile access are needed to enjoy in-play betting. Live betting is available from a smartphone through the darazplay App.
Practical tips for cricket betting
- Understand the format before you bet: T20 and Test cricket are completely different in nature — a strategy for one does not apply to the other.
- Check pitch and weather conditions: A spin-friendly pitch tends to produce lower scores; a pace-friendly pitch may see wickets fall quickly.
- Set your budget in advance: Allocate a fixed amount for each session and do not exceed it. Betting is a form of entertainment.
- Learn one market well: Start with straightforward markets like Match Winner or Over/Under before moving on.
- No rushing in live betting: When odds shift quickly, assess the situation rather than placing a large bet on impulse.
- Play responsibly: Treat betting as a form of entertainment. Visit the Responsible Gaming page to learn how to keep yourself protected.
